Why J&D
Why Specialty Clients Use Us
Trucking, contractor and builders risk clients need more than a policy. They need an agency that keeps up with the paperwork that comes with the work.
- Fast certificates. Most certificate requests go out the same business day, with the holder and wording the job requires.
- Filings handled. We work with the insurance company on federal and state trucking filings so your authority isn't held up.
- Contract review. Send us the contract, lease or loan terms before you sign. We check the insurance requirements against your policy.
- Several insurance companies. We shop the insurance companies that write your kind of work, so one decline isn't the end of the search.
- English and Spanish. Owners, drivers and office staff can work with us in English or Spanish.
- Rechecked at renewal. We review your limits, drivers, equipment and contracts at every renewal and shop again when the price doesn't fit.
Questions
Specialty Insurance Questions
Don't see your question? Ask us directly. A licensed agent will answer, in English or Spanish.
What makes a risk specialty?
Trucking, construction and projects under construction often fall outside what standard business policies are built for. They need insurance companies that write that work and policies set up for filings, certificates and contract requirements.
Can you handle my filings and certificates?
Yes. We work with the insurance company on federal and state trucking filings, and we turn around certificates for contractors and brokers, most the same business day.
Can you look at a contract before I sign it?
Yes. Send it over and we'll check the insurance requirements, like limits, additional insured and waiver of subrogation, against your current policy. We'll tell you what needs to change before you sign.
Do you work with new companies?
Yes. New authorities, new contractors and first projects are common for us. Pricing is often higher without a track record, so we shop several insurance companies to find the best fit.
