Homeowners Insurance
Many homeowners are insured for what they paid, not what it would cost to rebuild, and don't find out until after a loss. We check your coverage against today's rebuilding cost and walk you through deductibles and exclusions, then compare several insurance companies for the best price on coverage that fits. Call or text and a real person will go over your current policy with you, or answer a few questions once and we do the shopping.

What It Covers
What Homeowners Coverage Includes
Exact coverage depends on the policy and the insurance company. We walk you through yours before you buy.
- The structure of your home
- Detached structures like fences, sheds and garages
- Your belongings, at home or away
- Liability if someone is hurt on your property
- Extra living costs if a covered loss forces you out
Good to Know
Before You Buy
A home policy is only as strong as the values and exclusions inside it. We go through each one with you before you choose.
- Rebuild cost. Coverage should be based on the cost to rebuild, which can be very different from your home's market value. We help you estimate it before you set your limit.
- Flood and earthquake. Standard homeowners policies exclude flood and earth movement. Flood needs its own policy, and earthquake is usually added separately.
- Replacement cost. Some policies pay actual cash value on certain items unless you have replacement cost coverage. The difference after a loss can be large.
- Wind deductibles. Some policies, especially near the coast, carry a separate wind or hurricane deductible. We show you what you would pay out of pocket.
- Home updates. Updates like a newer roof can lower your premium with many companies. Have the dates for your roof, plumbing, electrical and heating ready when you quote.
- Valuables. Jewelry, art and collectibles often have low limits for theft. Listing them separately can raise those limits.
Pair It With
Gaps Homeowners Often Miss
Your home policy leaves these out. We check for every one of them when we quote your home, and most take only a few more answers.
Flood Isn't Covered by Your Home Policy
Home policies exclude flood, even outside high-risk zones, and most flood policies have a waiting period before they start.
A Lawsuit Can Be Bigger Than Your Limits
A guest hurt at your home can lead to a claim above your home limits. An umbrella adds protection on top of your home and auto.
Home and Auto, Priced Both Ways
Some companies give a discount when both are with them, others don't. We price them together and separately so you can compare.
Your Home Policy Won't Pay the Mortgage
If something happened to you, life insurance sized to your mortgage helps your family keep the house.
A Business Run From Home Usually Isn't Covered
A side business, freelance work or an online shop needs its own coverage, since home policies limit business equipment and exclude business liability.
Boats, Golf Carts and Motorcycles Need Their Own Coverage
Many people assume their home or auto policy covers them. Most need a separate policy or an added endorsement.
